CALLING

Bill Moss, Jr. is beyond the trifecta. Determined to deliver a message that stays honest, open & transparent this singer, songwriter, producer, and musician is far from being a novice in the recording industry. Son of legendary Bill Moss, Sr. and Missionary Essie Moss (of Bill Moss & The Celestials), Bill will tell anyone that his success did not just come overnight.

Bill's musicianship began at five years old, playing with his father. Bill still recalls the feeling of performing in front of an audience and falling flat on his back years ago, an experience he believes every musician will have, whether real or imagined. Bill shares that story to encourage others, emphasizing that when you fall on your back, you can look up, which means you can still get up and try again.

As a young teen, Bill began recording with his brother J. Moss as The Moss Brothers, Bill began recording with his brother J. Moss. The Moss Brothers recorded together until the time Bill began to pursue his college education, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Marygrove College. Bill’s first solo project, “Manifested Favor”, was released nationally in 2008 and debuted at #27 on the Billboard Charts.

Serious about excellence in music, Bill has a way of bringing out the best in everyone around him, from the choir director to the bashful vocalist on the third row. Bill serves as the Director of Music & Fine Arts at Third New Hope Church (Detroit). It is here where Bill has the opportunity to impact and encourage people every week, using his gift of music.

Incorporating a variety of styles so everyone in the congregation can leave with at least one song to carry them through the week.

Additionally, Bill serves as the Music Ministry President of the B.M.& E. (Baptist, Missionary, & Education) State Convention, Bill continues the legacy of his late-great aunt Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark, the legendary choir director.

Since his debut album, Manifested Favor: Live From Detroit, Bill has released two other albums: His Majesty with the B.M. & E. State Choir and Songbook of Praise & Worship Live with Third New Hope, as well as single Brand New Day. It is a single dealing with the issues that surrounded the murder of George Floyd. It has an inspirational tone that people can hold on to in times of uncertainty.

Bill has always had a gift for connecting with people, which is evident in his songwriting. With lyrics that have the power to transcend all barriers, Bill states, “I really do this so that people can be impacted. To make an impact on somebody, to encourage somebody...If I can’t do that, then I don’t want to do it.”

Finally, through private lessons Bill has shared his gift to develop & cultivate hundreds of musicians & singers who have gone on to experience great success in both the Gospel & Secular Music industries—teaching, working, serving, and most importantly, giving.
